Friday, 6/26/09 Report
It was a tough day to start, but we finished like superstars!!
We had wind against tide for most of the day, making for horrible drifting conditions. Unfortunately we had to wait till noon for the tide change in order drift better. We did have the occasional shot of fish, but once we lost the tide, we lost the bite. We made a move to the far western side of the bay to set up for the start of the outgoing water, and it paid off big time. Had the change of tide bite and we carried them for the last hour of the trip. Tom Salerno caught the first limit of the year, and Kevin Calandriello added four to their total of 10 keepers up to 5 pounds. We had a couple of other people with four keepers also. Larry Gove, S. Bound Brook, NJ, who is on some hot steak this season, won yet another pool today with a 5 pound fish. (No worries Mr. Martin. Not in monthly.) It looks like a good weekend with the weather, so hopefully we can put together a couple trips of good fishing.
