Wednesday, 6/11/08 Report

6.11.08.pool.jpg   Somewhat of a bounce back day from the bad fishing we had the past few trips. Set up on the western end of the Reach to begin the morning. Wind direction was out of the west and with the last of the outgoing tide we were able to put together a good first drift before the tide change at 9am. The prime conditions produced a good pick of fish for the first hour and a half. Unfortunately, once the flood tide started to run, the ideal conditions were over. Continued to fish the Reach Channel, choosing not to run around the bay as we did yesterday. A slow pick remained throughout the day. Late in the day as the tide eased off, we had a little shot of fish to finish up. Some anglers were more fortunate than others with the keepers. Larry Gove, So. Bound Brook, NJ, was the most fortunate of all catching his limit on fluke and winning today's pool with a 6 pound fish. It pretty much doesn't get any better than that!!!
