30 seconds into our first drift, Steve Kerry landed an 8 pound fluke. Now that's the way to start the day!!!
Today was very similar to yesterday fishing wise. Conditions were the same. Ratio was the same. The only difference was the keepers that we caught were very nice sized. In addition to the 8 pounder, we had a 6.6 and a 6.1 pound fluke, with quite a few in the 4 to 5 pound range. However, keeping was tough for some. One angler caught 25 shorts without getting a keeper, while the angler next to him caught 8 fluke and had 4 keepers. Overall for the boat, it was a good day. Had we had any kind of drifting condition, we could have had an outstanding day. Steve Kerry won today's pool with an 8 pound fluke, and Gary Thompson was runner up with a 6.6 pound fluke. (On a side note, even though Gary had honorable mention today, he was non-existent for the head to head vs. Steve, getting decimated in the total fluke count. Way to show up Gary!!) Al Rohner also gets a mention for catching a 6 pound fluke today.
